Sweet and Sour Grilled Brat Salad

Delicious Asian salad with just 6 simple ingredients needed.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh bratwurst
  • 1 large bell pepper, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 1 package Betty Crocker™ Suddenly Salad® classic pasta salad mix
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 can (15 1/2 ounces) pineapple chunks in juice, drained and 1/4 cup juice reserved
Instructions:
  • Arrange the bratwurst in a single layer in a square microwavable dish measuring 8x8x2 inches. Cover with plastic wrap, leaving one corner unfolded for venting. Microwave on High for 5 minutes. Flip and rearrange the bratwurst, cover again with plastic wrap, and microwave on Medium-High (70%) for 3 to 4 minutes or until no longer pink in the center.
  • Preheat grill to medium heat. Grill bratwurst uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides. Grill bell pepper for 6 to 8 minutes until skin is blistered. Chill bratwurst and bell pepper in the refrigerator.
  • Pour the Pasta mix into a large saucepan filled 2/3 full with boiling water. Boil gently without cover for 12 minutes, stirring from time to time. Proceed with step 4 while pasta cooks.
  • Combine the seasoning mix, brown sugar, soy sauce, and reserved pineapple juice in a large bowl; set aside.
  • Drain the pasta and rinse under cold water, shaking well to remove excess water.
  • Slice the bratwurst into 1/2-inch pieces and the bell peppers into 1-inch pieces. Combine the pasta, bratwurst, bell peppers, and pineapple with the seasoning mixture. When ready to serve, sprinkle the topping over the dish. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
