Sweet square tamagoyaki: quickly folded with sugar for a modern twist on a Japanese classic.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce, or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon white sugar
Instructions:
  • Combine water, soy sauce, and sugar in a small bowl until the sugar is fully dissolved. Then, whisk in the egg until well incorporated.
  • Preheat skillet over medium heat until a drop of water sizzles on contact. Pour in the egg mixture and cook until the omelet's bottom sets, about 3 to 5 minutes. Flip, fold into a square, and transfer to a plate.
