Tangy cinnamon-infused red cabbage is a vibrant side dish for any meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • 0.5 apple - peeled, cored, and cubed
  • 0.5 cup red wine
  • 0.33333334326744 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 0.125 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 head red cabbage, shredded
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Caramelize onion and apple in melted butter over medium heat until onion is translucent and apple is soft, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Combine a flavorful blend of wine, apple cider vinegar, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg with the sautéed onions to create a tantalizing sauce. Bring to a vigorous boil to infuse flavors. Add cabbage to the mixture, ensuring each piece is coated evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer on low heat until the cabbage reaches a tender texture, approximately 30 minutes.
