Seared tuna topped with fennel-seasoned baby bok choy and red bell pepper slices.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 teaspoons whole fennel seeds
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 0.75 cube fish bouillon, crushed
  • 0.5 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine
  • 1 head baby bok choy, cleaned and sliced
  • 1.5 teaspoons fennel seeds, crushed
  • 1 (8 ounce) tuna steak
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, warm up 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons of whole fennel seeds and cook until they start to bubble and pop, around 30 seconds. Mix in garlic and red bell pepper, cook for 2 minutes. Dissolve fish bouillon, then add lemon juice, white wine, and bok choy. Continue cooking until the bok choy is tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Combine salt, pepper, and crushed fennel seeds on a plate. Press tuna steak into the mixture on both sides. Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Cook tuna steak for about 45 seconds per side, until browned and cooked to your liking.
  • Slice the tuna into thin 1/4-inch slices and elegantly place on a serving platter. Finish by topping with the flavorful bok choy mixture before serving.
