Sweet and savory soy sauce eggs with onion and sesame oil - a delicious twist on a classic.
Ingredients:
  • 6 eggs
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 6 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 0.5 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, gently nestle the eggs and cover them with cold water. Bring to a boil, then take the saucepan off the heat, cover it, and allow the eggs to cook through for approximately 10 minutes. Drain the hot water and then cover the eggs with cold water.
  • Peel the eggs and place them in a large Mason jar.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, mix soy sauce, water, sugar, minced onion, and sesame oil. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves (3-5 minutes). Let cool for about 5 minutes, then pour over eggs in the jar.
  • Chill eggs in the refrigerator for a minimum of 6 hours to enhance their flavors.
