Elevate meat dishes with a tasty teriyaki marinade, ideal for Asian-inspired meals.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
Instructions:
  • Combine all ingredients in a shallow glass or plastic dish or a resealable plastic bag.
  • Coat 1 pound boneless or 2 to 3 pounds bone-in beef, pork, or chicken with the marinade. Refrigerate, turning occasionally, for at least 1 hour but no longer than 24 hours.
  • Take the meat out of the marinade, saving the marinade. Cook the meat to your liking, basting it occasionally with the reserved marinade.
  • Boil the leftover marinade in a 1-quart saucepan until it reaches a boil, while stirring constantly. Let it boil for 1 minute. Serve as a delicious sauce.
