Indulge in the ultimate hot chocolate perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 110g caster sugar
  • 125g good-quality dark chocolate, broken in pieces
  • 300ml pure (thin) cream, plus whipped cream to serve
  • 75g cocoa powder
  • 1L (4 cups) milk
Instructions:
  • In a pan over medium-low heat, combine sugar and 1/2 cup (125ml) water. Stir until sugar dissolves, then simmer for 2 minutes until slightly thickened. Add chocolate and stir until melted. Whisk in cream, cocoa, and 1/3 cup (80ml) milk. Transfer mixture to a jug for serving.
  • Warm the remaining milk in a pan over medium-low heat until it's just below boiling point. Pour into mugs and allow guests to add the warm chocolate mixture to their liking. Serve topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of extra cocoa.
