Whip up tangy lemon bars using fresh lemons and basic pantry staples for a decadently rich citrus dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 lemons, juiced
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect temperature to start baking.
  • For the crust: Mix together 2 cups of flour, softened butter, and 1/2 cup of sugar until thoroughly combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13-inch pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the crust is firm and golden, for about 15 minutes. In a separate bowl, whisk the remaining 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1/4 cup flour. Add eggs and lemon juice, whisk until smooth, then pour the filling over the baked crust.
  • After baking in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, let the pan cool completely to allow the bars to firm up. Then, cut them into uniform squares.
