Saucy, cheesy chicken bake - all the flavors of chicken Parmesan without the breading or frying. Easy and irresistible!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed and finely chopped
  • 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 2 cups prepared marinara sauce
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1 (8 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 (5 ounce) package garlic croutons
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Prepare the casserole dish by generously drizzling olive oil over the bottom, then generously sprinkle with garlic and red pepper flakes.
  • Layer the chicken breasts evenly on the bottom of the dish.
  • Cover the chicken with marinara sauce, then evenly sprinkle basil, half of the mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, and croutons on top.
  • Sprinkle on the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in the oven until cheese, croutons, and chicken are golden brown and fully cooked through, about 35 minutes to an hour. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches at least 160°F (70°C).
  • Enjoy while the dish is still warm and season to taste!
