Elevate spinach salad with bacon and eggs using a tangy homemade dressing of vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 0.75 pound fresh spinach
  • 2 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sweet onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped raw almonds
  • 1 tablespoon raw sunflower seeds
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Place the bacon in a spacious skillet and fry over medium-high heat, flipping occasionally, until it is uniformly browned, which should take approximately 10 minutes. Transfer the cooked bacon to paper towels to drain and then crumble it.
  • In a large bowl, arrange spinach, bacon, eggs, and onion in layers. Sprinkle almonds and sunflower seeds on top. In a separate bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Drizzle the dressing over the spinach mixture and toss well. Enjoy immediately.
