The original "one bowl" chocolate cake

Effortlessly mix ingredients in one bowl for a moist, delicious cake. Easily customizable for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 20.00 gm Cocoa
  • 187.50 gm self-raising flour
  • 32.50 gm custard powder
  • Pinch bicarbonate soda
  • 215.00 gm caster sugar
  • 125g butter, softened
  • 64.38 gm milk
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • 150.00 gm icing sugar
  • 20.00 gm Cocoa, extra
  • 40.00 gm butter, softened
  • 1-40.00 gm hot water
  • Chocolate curls, for decoration
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, blend the flour, custard powder, cocoa, bicarb, sugar, butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla on medium speed for 8 minutes. Transfer the mixture into a greased and lined 20cm round cake pan.
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C and bake for 1 hour or until fully cooked. Allow the dish to cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then carefully remove from the pan and let it cool completely.
  • Combine the icing sugar and extra cocoa by sifting them together. Mix in the butter and add hot water until the icing is thick. Frost the cake and garnish with chocolate curls. Store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
