Indulge in chestnut dessert paired with cinnamon for your loved ones.
Ingredients:
  • 375.00 gm water
  • 225.00 gm sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 vanilla bean, split, seeds scraped
  • 40g butter
  • 4.80 gm sea salt flakes
  • 5.00 gm caster sugar
  • 0.63 gm ground cinnamon
  • 400g chestnuts, roasted, peeled (see notes)
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over low heat, gently combine water, 1 cup sugar, cinnamon stick, split vanilla bean and seeds, and butter until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to bring to a boil, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for 25-30 minutes until a rich dark golden color is achieved.
  • Mix together sea salt flakes, 1 tsp caster sugar, and ground cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Arrange the chestnuts on a lined baking tray. Drizzle the toffee over the nuts and sprinkle with the salt mixture. Allow to cool.
