Indulge your guests with decadent chocolate toffee pecan cookies - a perfect sweet ending!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup pecan halves, broken in half
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 6 tablespoons shortening
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 bars (1.4 oz each) chocolate-covered English toffee candy, coarsely chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spread the pecans in an ungreased shallow pan. Bake them uncovered for 6 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they turn a beautiful golden brown. Allow them to cool before using.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl; set aside. In a medium bowl, cream butter and shortening with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add granulated sugar and brown sugar, mix in egg and vanilla until combined. Gently incorporate the flour mixture, then fold in pecans and toffee candy.
  • Place cooking parchment paper on cookie sheets and spoon 1/4 cupfuls of dough onto the sheets, leaving 2 to 3 inches of space between each.
  • Bake for 17 minutes or until edges turn golden brown. Let cool for 2 minutes, then transfer from the cookie sheets to cooling racks.
