Ingredients:
  • 36.80 gm canola oil
  • 40.00 ml grated ginger
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 125ml red wine vinegar
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 1 small red chilli, finely chopped
  • 450g can chopped tomatoes
  • 28.60 gm honey
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, warm the canola oil. Sauté the ginger and onion until the onion is soft, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in vinegar, brown sugar, and chili. Cook and stir until the sugar dissolves, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the tomatoes to the mixture and season generously with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer gently for 30-35 minutes until the sauce thickens. Mix in the honey and let it cool to room temperature.
