Traditional Roast Beef Hash

Classic roast beef hash with ground beef, onions, and potatoes.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups roughly chopped cooked roast beef or pot roast beef
  • 1 large Russett or 2 smaller Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1 large onion, peeled and quartered
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Ketchup
Instructions:
  • Combine equal parts of beef, potatoes, and onions in a meat grinder using a medium attachment until well mixed. Alternatively, pulse in a food processor or finely chop by hand if a meat grinder is not available.
  • - In a large frying pan, heat olive oil over medium-high to high heat. - Add hash to cover the bottom of the pan by half an inch. Cook in batches if needed. - Brown the hash well, stirring occasionally, for at least 10 minutes. - Season with salt and pepper a couple of times during cooking. - Serve immediately with ketchup.
