Tuna patties with potatoes, green onions, and breadcrumbs, coated in crunchy macadamia nuts and served with tangy tartare sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 425g tuna in spring water, drained
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled, cooked, mashed
  • 20.00 ml horseradish cream
  • 62.50 ml dried breadcrumbs
  • 160g macadamia nuts, diced
  • 57.50 gm vegetable oil
  • 1 green onion (shallot), chopped
  • 1 lemon, finely grated, rind only
  • Egg, lightly beaten
  • Tartare sauce, to serve
  • Side salad, to serve
Instructions:
  • Combine tuna, potato, green onion, lemon zest, horseradish cream, egg, and breadcrumbs in a large bowl and mix thoroughly. Shape the mixture into 8 patties and coat them evenly with nuts by gently pressing them down. Chill on a tray for 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Cook patties for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Garnish patties with tangy tartare sauce and a crisp side salad.
