Tuna, hard-boiled eggs, olives, and Swiss cheese on sourdough bread, broiled into a delicious tuna melt.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (5 ounce) cans water-packed tuna, drained
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped celery
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped carrots
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 8 large ripe olives, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (such as Grey Poupon®)
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 12 slices sourdough bread, or more to taste
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
Instructions:
  • Position the oven rack 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the broiler. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix together tuna, mayonnaise, celery, green onions, carrots, hard-boiled eggs, olives, and mustard until fully combined.
  • Brush melted butter onto one side of each bread slice. Place a slice of cheese, tuna salad, another slice of cheese, and another bread slice (buttered side up) on top of each other. Repeat the layers using the remaining ingredients. Place the sandwiches on the baking sheet.
  • Broil in the oven until the bread is golden and the cheese is gooey, for 3 to 5 minutes.
