Homemade doner kebab: seasoned ground lamb, baked and sliced, served in pita for an irresistible street food delight.
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried Italian herb seasoning
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1.25 pounds ground lamb
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, oregano, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add ground lamb and knead for about 3 minutes until well combined.
  • Form the seasoned lamb mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a loaf pan, then set the pan on top of a baking sheet.
  • Place in the hot oven, gently turning once to achieve uniform browning, and bake for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
  • Cover the loaf with aluminum foil and allow it to rest for approximately 10 minutes. Cut into ultra-thin slices to create delectable doner kebab pieces.
