Whip up a delicious Turkish-inspired pizza with seasoned mince and crunchy pine nuts for a satisfying family dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium brown onion, finely chopped
  • 3 ripe tomatoes, coarsely chopped
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • Pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 40g (1/4 cup) pine nuts
  • 500g lean lamb mince or beef mince
  • Salt & ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 Lebanese bread round
  • 40.00 ml chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) Greek Style Yoghurt
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  • In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion for 5-8 minutes until soft but not browned. Stir in tomatoes, allspice, and cayenne pepper, and cook over medium-high heat until liquid evaporates. Let mixture cool to room temperature.
  • Spread pine nuts in a single layer on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven until golden, about 5-8 minutes.
  • Mix together the tomato mixture, pine nuts, and mince in a bowl, season generously with salt and pepper, and ensure everything is well combined.
  • Lay the Souvlakia bread on a baking tray and evenly spread the mince mixture, ensuring to leave a 1 cm border. Bake in a preheated Oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mince is fully cooked and the bread edges are crisp.
  • Plate the dish, garnish with fresh parsley, and generously drizzle with creamy yogurt. Cut into wedges and enjoy while still hot.
