Indulgent chocolate turtle cake with gooey caramel, crunchy nuts, and rich chocolate chips.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
  • 14 ounces individually wrapped caramels
  • 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 0.75 cup butter
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and give your 9x13-inch baking dish a gentle grease.
  • Prepare the cake mix as instructed on the package, then carefully transfer slightly less than half of the batter into the prepared dish.
  • After 15 minutes in the warm oven, take the cake out.
  • Combine caramels, milk, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is melted and smooth, which should take about 10 minutes. Pour the luscious caramel mixture over the cake, then sprinkle it with pecans and chocolate chips. Finally, cover everything by pouring the remaining cake batter over the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the center of the cake springs back when touched lightly, for 20 to 35 minutes.
