Decadent Turtle chocolate pie that wowed restaurant patrons.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup corn syrup
  • 0.66666668653488 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
Instructions:
  • Arrange the pecans on the bottom of the pie shell.
  • To prepare the filling, in a heavy saucepan over medium heat, combine condensed milk, brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil while stirring continuously for at least 5 minutes. Remove from heat and gently beat the mixture with a spoon until it thickens, approximately 2 minutes. Avoid overmixing to prevent hardening. Pour the filling into the pie shell, cover, and refrigerate for about an hour. You can halve the filling ingredients for a lighter pie.
  • For the topping, melt chocolate and butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in condensed milk until well combined. Remove from heat and let it cool for about 3 minutes, just enough so the egg yolk won't cook. Spread the chocolate mixture over the cooled filling, then chill the pie in the refrigerator for another hour.
