"Crunchy, spiced honey biscuits - perfect for dessert or a sweet snack"
Ingredients:
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 100g dark brown sugar
  • 28.60 gm honey
  • 300g plain flour
  • 2.50 gm mixed spice
  • 1.25 gm ground cinnamon
  • Icing sugar, to dust
Instructions:
  • In a mixing bowl, whip together butter and sugar until creamy using electric beaters. Add in egg and honey, continue beating until combined. Gradually sift in flour and spices, then fold with a metal spoon until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 190°C and prepare 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Take the dough out of the refrigerator and let it soften. Divide it in half. Place one half between two sheets of plastic wrap and roll it out to an 8mm thickness. Remove the wrap. Use a turtle-dove-shaped cutter or another decorative cutter to shape the biscuits. Place them on baking sheets. Repeat with the other half of the dough. Bake for 7 minutes until golden.
  • Chill and store in a sealed container. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
