Savory Italian sausage skillet pie with flaky crescent roll crust.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 (15 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
  • 1 (15 ounce) can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (8 ounce) package crescent roll dough, unrolled and divided into triangles
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Sear and crumble sausage in an ovenproof skillet over medium heat until fully browned, about 10 minutes. Remove excess fat from the skillet.
  • Combine spaghetti sauce, cannellini beans, and thyme with the drained sausage. Simmer for about 5 minutes until hot. Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted evenly.
  • Place the crescent roll dough triangles in a beautiful spiral pattern over the sausage mixture, ensuring the points of the dough face towards the center to cover the mixture entirely.
  • Bake until the crust is golden brown and the meat mixture is hot and bubbly, about 12 minutes in a preheated oven.
