Total Time:
Indulgent white and dark chocolate fusion for all palates.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 3 (1 ounce) squares bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square pan with melted butter or oil and line the base with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on two sides.
  • Melt 1/4 cup butter or margarine with dark chocolate in a double boiler. In a medium bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 egg until combined. Combine with melted chocolate mixture. Gently fold in 1/2 cup flour until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  • Melt 1/4 cup butter or margarine with white chocolate in a double boiler. In a separate bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 egg. Mix in the melted white chocolate. Gently fold in 1/2 cup flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Alternate placing large spoonfuls of each mixture evenly next to each other in a single layer in the tin. Carefully smooth the surface without mixing the two mixtures together.
  • Bake for 35 minutes until firm, then cool in the tin before cutting into small squares.
