Irresistible gourmet burger with all the delicious fixings.
Ingredients:
  • 1 carrot
  • 800g minced chuck steak
  • olive oil
  • 1 pinch of cumin seeds
  • 4 slices of Canadian Cheddar cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • tomato ketchup
  • 2 heaped tablespoons fat-free natural yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon English mustard
  • 1 lemon
  • ¼ of a red cabbage
  • ¼ of a white cabbage
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 red eating apple
  • a few sprigs of fresh mint
  • ½ – 1 fresh red chilli
  • 2 gherkins
  • 1 handful of baby spinach leaves
  • 4 rashers of Certified Humane smoked streaky bacon
Instructions:
  • Divide the minced chuck steak into 4 portions, then shape each into a ball and flatten into patties slightly larger than your buns. Chill on an oiled plate. Preheat the grill or a griddle pan. For the slaw, combine yoghurt, mustards, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Grate cabbage, onion, carrot, and apple into the dressing. Add mint, chili, gherkins, and spinach, then set aside. Season burgers with salt, pepper, and cumin seeds, then cook for 3-4 minutes per side. Top with cheese and cook until melted. Cook bacon until crispy, chop, and mix into slaw. Adjust seasoning if needed. Toast burger buns and layer with ketchup, burger, slaw, and bun tops. Gently press together before serving. Enjoy!
