Homemade, veggie-packed pizza sauce - freezer-friendly and a breeze to make. Say goodbye to store-bought!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cups diced carrots
  • 0.5 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 0.5 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 2 cups diced onions
  • 4 cloves garlic, diced
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 4 fluid ounces red wine
  • 2 (27 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • In a large pot over medium-high heat, saute carrots and bell peppers for 5 minutes until slightly tender. Add onion and garlic and continue sauteing for another 5 minutes until desired softness is achieved.
  • Distribute tomato paste evenly in the pot. Pour in red wine and bring to a boil, scraping off browned bits with a wooden spoon to deglaze. Reduce heat to low, then add diced tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  • Blend the vibrant red sauce to your preferred consistency using an immersion blender or food processor. Allow it to simmer for a minimum of 1 hour to develop a richer flavor, or keep it warm until you're ready to use it.
