Delicious vegan mushroom gravy, velvety and dairy-free. Perfect over mashed potatoes, brown rice, or nut roast.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pinch dried thyme
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, sauté mushrooms in oil until soft, about 8 minutes. Stir in flour until mushrooms are coated. Gradually pour in vegetable broth, stirring constantly until flour is fully dissolved. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme, stir to combine.
  • Bring the rich gravy to a bubbling boil, then lower the heat to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally and let it thicken beautifully for about 5 minutes.
