Decadent chocolate cake: Layer dry ingredients in pan, add delicious fillings to hollows, and drizzle with cold water before baking.
Ingredients:
  • 2.25 cups cake flour
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 4.5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons distilled white vinegar
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.33333298563957 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) while preparing a 13x9 inch cake pan with cooking oil spray.
  • Combine flour, white sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Transfer dry ingredients to a pan. Make three indentations in the mixture. Fill one with vegetable oil, another with vinegar, and the last one with vanilla. Pour cold water over it all and mix until smooth.
  • Bake the cake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for approximately 20 minutes, then immediately frost it while it's warm.
  • For the icing, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add in the cocoa, then take the pan off the heat. Stir in the salt, milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Mix in the confectioners' sugar until you reach your desired consistency. Spread the icing over the warm cake.
