Apple pie pockets - Sliced apples and spices wrapped in flaky pie crust for a handheld treat that's irresistibly delicious!
Ingredients:
  • 3 sweet apples -- peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (15 ounce) package prepared, unbaked pie crust, thawed
  • milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Combine apple slices with sugar, flour, salt, apple pie spice, and vanilla extract in a bowl, ensuring every slice is well coated.
  • Spread pie dough onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Arrange apples on one side, leaving a 1 inch border. Brush border and opposite half with milk. Carefully fold dough over apples, ensuring not to overfill to avoid tearing. Fold edges and pinch to seal. Make small slits on top with a knife, then brush with beaten egg.
  • Place in the oven that has been preheated and allow to bake for 40 minutes, or until it achieves a flakey, golden-brown perfection. Serve either warm or at room temperature.
