Wheat Bread in Resealable Bag

Get the kids involved in making bread-in-a-bag! Mix flour, yeast, water, and oil in a sealed bag for a fun and delicious loaf everyone will love.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons dry milk powder
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, or more if needed
Instructions:
  • Prepare the bread loaf pan by greasing it.
  • Combine all-purpose flour, yeast, milk powder, sugar, and salt in a large resealable plastic bag. Pour in hot water and oil, then seal the bag and knead to mix. Incorporate whole-wheat flour, followed by another cup of all-purpose flour. Gradually add more all-purpose flour until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bag easily.
  • Transfer the dough to a gently floured work surface and knead for 4 minutes until soft and well combined. Allow the dough to rest for 10 minutes. Roll it into a large rectangle, then roll the rectangle into a log shape. Place the log into the prepared loaf pan, cover it, and let it rise until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Bake in the oven until golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
