Honey Wheat Slow Cooker Bread

Honey-sweetened whole wheat bread ready in 90 minutes with easy slow cooker method.
Ingredients:
  • 1.125 cups water
  • 0.33333334326744 cup honey
  • 1.5 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon dry milk powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour, or more if needed
  • 0.25 cup rolled oats, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Microwave water until warm, about 45 seconds. Add honey, oil, milk powder, salt, and yeast; mix well with a fork. Transfer to a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment.
  • Gradually incorporate 1 cup of flour at a time on low speed until fully combined. Increase speed until a smooth dough forms, adding more flour if needed.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it into a ball. Roll the dough in oats on the work surface and place it on a narrow, rectangular piece of parchment paper. Gently transfer the parchment paper with the dough into a slow cooker.
  • Cook on High, covered, until bread is cooked through, approximately 1 1/2 hours.
