Elevate your Halloween party with witch hat cake pops made from devil's food cake mix and chocolate frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Chocolate Frosting
  • 4 cups dark cocoa candy melts
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 36 Oreo chocolate creme sandwich cookies
  • 72 paper lollipop sticks
  • Block of plastic foam
  • 6 Betty Crocker™ Fruit Roll-Ups®, cut into 1/2-inch strips
  • 72 candy-coated chocolate candies
Instructions:
  • Follow the instructions on the cake mix box for a 13x9-inch pan, incorporating water, oil, and eggs. After baking, let the cake cool. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Crumble the cake into a large bowl and mix in the frosting. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls, then mold them into cones. Arrange them on the cookie sheet and freeze until firm before storing in the refrigerator.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave candy melts and shortening on Medium (50%) power for 1 minute. Stir and continue microwaving in 15-second intervals until fully melted. Remove the filling from the cookies and make a small hole in the center of each cookie with a sharp knife. Insert lollipop sticks through the holes. Dip the base of a cake ball cone into the melted candy and coat the tip of a lollipop stick before inserting it into a cake ball. Press a cookie onto the base of the cake ball. Repeat this process for the remaining cake balls. Place them on a cookie sheet and refrigerate for 5 minutes. Remove them from the refrigerator one at a time and dip each cake ball in the melted candy, tapping off any excess. Insert the opposite end of the stick into a foam block and let the cake balls set.
  • Wrap delightful fruit roll strips around the base of the witch hat, then secure a charming chocolate candy in the center of each strip using melted candy for the buckle.
