Elevate pork ribs with a tangy and sweet homemade Worcestershire sauce using tomato paste, hot pepper sauce, and golden syrup for the perfect finishing touch.
Ingredients:
  • 1.25 pounds pork spareribs
  • 0.5 cup tomato paste
  • 0.5 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cup golden syrup
  • 2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco™)
  • 1 sweet red pepper, seeded and cut into thin strips
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a roasting pan with aluminum foil and arrange the ribs in the pan.
  • Roast in the oven for 20 minutes, making sure to flip the ribs halfway through.
  • Combine tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, golden syrup, and hot pepper sauce in a bowl while the ribs cook.
  • Take the ribs out of the oven, discard any excess fat, then generously drizzle the sauce over the ribs before baking for 30 minutes.
  • Evenly coat ribs with a mix of red pepper and onion. Bake until meat is tender and easily comes off the bone, approximately 10 minutes more. Check for doneness with an instant-read thermometer; it should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C) when inserted into the center.
