10-minute tuna mornay rice bake recipe

Whip up a quick and delicious tuna mornay bake using store-bought sauces in just 10 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 425g can Tuna In Springwater, drained, flaked
  • 150g (1 cup) frozen mixed vegetables
  • 490g jar bought bechamel sauce
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) thickened cream
  • 450g pkt microwave brown rice
  • 2 green shallots
  • 120g (1 1/2 cups) pre-grated 3 blend cheese (cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan)
  • 25g (1/2 cup) panko breadcrumbs
  • Extra virgin olive oil, to drizzle
Instructions:
  • Combine the tuna, vegetables, bechamel, and cream in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally and heat for 2 minutes until warmed through.
  • Microwave the rice for 1 minute until it's slightly warm while the tuna mixture cooks.
  • Finely dice the shallots and fold half into the tuna mixture.
  • Preheat the grill to high. Spread the rice evenly in a square 1.5L (6 cup) baking dish. Add the tuna mixture on top. Sprinkle cheese and breadcrumbs, then drizzle with oil. Grill for 2 minutes until golden. Serve with remaining shallot sprinkled over.
