Elevate classic 7-layer bars with chocolate, nuts, butterscotch, and coconut for the ultimate crowd-pleasing treat, ideal for a make-ahead dessert or bake sale hit.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups (225 g) graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup (115 g / 1 stick) melted unsalted butter
  • 14 ounces (396 g / 1 can) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup (185 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (185 g) butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup (115 g) chopped pecans
  • 1 cup (105 g) shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt (like Maldon ), optional
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with cooking oil and line it with parchment paper.
  • Create the graham cracker crust by combining the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a bowl. Mix with a fork until the crumbs are moist and stick together. Transfer the mixture to the pan and press into an even layer using your fingers or the back of a flat-bottomed cup.
  • Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk onto the graham cracker crust, then use a spatula to spread it evenly to the edges of the pan.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, pecans, and sweetened coconut in that order over the condensed milk. Use your palm to gently press down, securing the toppings in place.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the edges of the bars are golden-brown and slightly detach from the pan. Sprinkle with sea salt after removing from the oven, if desired.
  • Let the bars cool completely before removing them from the pan using the parchment paper. If needed, refrigerate for a few hours or overnight to help them firm up. Cut into 24 pieces and store in an airtight container with wax paper or parchment paper between layers. The bars taste even better the day after baking. For a firm and chewy texture, refrigerate for up to a week. Enjoy within 3 to 5 days if stored at room temperature. Leave a rating and review if you loved this recipe!
