Elevate your holiday party with cranberry and brie-filled bonbons in flakey filo pastry, a delightful blend of melted cheese and sweet cranberry sauce cooked in the air fryer for a festive treat.
Ingredients:
  • 200g triple cream brie
  • 8 sheets filo pastry
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 85g (1/4 cup) cranberry sauce
  • 1 bunch fresh chives
Instructions:
  • Slice the brie cheese into eight decadent 1cm-thick pieces.
  • Lay out the filo sheets on a clean work surface. Cover with a dry tea towel followed by a damp tea towel to keep the pastry moist. Brush the first sheet with butter, then layer another sheet on top and brush with more butter. Continue layering 2 more sheets with butter so you end up with a stack of 4 sheets. Cut the stack in half horizontally, then cut each piece in half vertically.
  • Lay a slice of brie in the center of a stack. Spoon a heaping teaspoon of cranberry sauce on top of the brie. Brush butter around the brie. Roll up tightly, then pinch the ends to seal and create a bonbon shape. Brush with more butter. Repeat with the rest of the filo, brie, cranberry sauce, and butter to make 8 bonbons.
  • Prepare the air fryer by lining the basket with baking paper. Arrange half of the bonbons in the basket. Air fry at 180C for 10 minutes, then flip and air fry for an additional 5 minutes until crispy and golden. Repeat the process with the remaining bonbons. Finish by elegantly tying each bonbon with a chive at both ends.
