Homemade air fryer Chinese sweet and sour pork: quick, healthier alternative to takeout.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds pork cutlets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 serving nonstick cooking spray
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup rice vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine pork, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Mix well to coat evenly and allow to marinate for 5 minutes.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) while you prepare the other ingredients.
  • Coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray, then add the pork to the basket and spray the top of the pork with cooking spray.
  • Cook the pork in the air fryer for a total of 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until it reaches your desired level of crispiness.
  • As the pork cooks, simply mix sugar, vinegar, ketchup, and soy sauce in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches a boil. Then, lower the heat and keep the sauce warm until you're ready to use it.
  • Place the pork in a bowl and drizzle the sauce over it, ensuring it's evenly coated.
