Crispy calamari made guilt-free in the air fryer - a quick and easy seafood appetizer with minimal oil.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pound calamari rings, patted dry
  • nonstick cooking spray
Instructions:
  • Preheat your air fryer to a perfect 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • - Add flour to a bowl. - In another bowl, whisk together egg and milk. - In a third bowl, mix panko, salt, and pepper.
  • Dredge calamari rings in flour, then dip in egg mixture, and coat in panko mixture.
  • Arrange the rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overlap them. If necessary, cook in batches. Lightly spray the tops with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Cook the rings in the preheated air fryer for 4 minutes. Flip them, spray with nonstick cooking spray, and continue cooking until they are golden brown and crispy, approximately 3 more minutes.
