A classic Aussie pub favorite that you can easily recreate in your own kitchen!
Ingredients:
  • 2 x 200g calamari tubes, fresh or frozen
  • 32.50 gm cornflour
  • 32.50 gm rice flour
  • 9.60 gm salt flakes
  • 20.00 ml mixed peppercorns, freshly ground
  • olive oil spray
Instructions:
  • Prepare the calamari by slicing them open like a book and scoring the inside in a criss-cross pattern. Then, cut the calamari into 3cm pieces, including the tentacles if desired.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients. Coat half of the calamari pieces well with the flour mixture. Arrange the pieces evenly on the air-fryer tray with a criss-cross pattern facing down, then lightly spray with oil spray.
  • Place the calamari on the middle shelf of the Crisp 'N Bake Toaster Oven and cook for 5 minutes, shaking the tray occasionally for even cooking. The calamari should be lightly golden and curl up when done. Be cautious not to overcook it to keep it tender.
  • Continue coating the rest of the calamari with the flour mixture. Serve the crispy calamari with a side of your choice, whether it's a flavorful dipping sauce or a fresh herb salad.
