Spicy and moist buttermilk-soaked chicken thighs, coated in a spicy flour mixture and air-fried for a flavorful dish.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1.5 pounds skinless, boneless chicken thighs
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup tapioca flour
  • 2.5 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon honey powder (such as Savory Spice®)
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 0.125 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 teaspoons honey
Instructions:
  • In a resealable plastic bag, mix together the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken thighs and let them marinate for 30 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix together flour, tapioca flour, Cajun seasoning, garlic salt, honey powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Remove thighs from buttermilk mixture and coat them evenly with the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (175°C).
  • First, place the chicken thighs in the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes. Flip them over and continue cooking until they are no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 10 minutes more. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches at least 165°F (74°C). Finally, drizzle each thigh with 1 teaspoon of honey before serving.
