Air fryer prawn sesame balls recipe

Trendy brioche bun air fryer prawn toast - perfect for parties or a deliciously naughty snack just for you.
Ingredients:
  • 250g frozen uncooked deveined prawn meat, just thawed
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2cm piece fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 1 egg white
  • 2.50 gm caster sugar
  • 10.60 gm soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil, plus extra, to brush
  • 1 green shallot, very thinly sliced
  • 2 eggs, lightly whisked
  • 150g sesame seeds, lightly toasted
  • 3 brioche hot dog buns, cut into 1cm thick slices (see note)
  • Sweet chilli sauce or sweet and sour sauce, to serve
Instructions:
  • Blend prawn meat, garlic, ginger, egg white, sugar, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a food processor until a thick paste forms. Add shallot and pulse to mix. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or overnight to enhance flavors.
  • Start by cracking the egg into a shallow bowl and spreading the sesame seeds on a plate. Then, spoon 1/2 tablespoon of the prawn mixture onto a brioche slice. Dip the brioche in the egg, followed by a roll in sesame seeds. Place 9 coated pieces in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch, and air fry at 170C for about 6 minutes until golden. Follow the same steps for the remaining prawn mixture, brioche, egg, and sesame seeds.
  • Enjoy with a side of delicious dipping sauce.
