Korean-inspired air-fried wings: crispy, sticky, spicy, ready in under 30 mins for a delicious appetizer or main dish.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup hot honey (such as Mike's Hot Honey®)
  • 3 tablespoons gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped green onions (green part only)
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, harmonize hot honey, gochujang, brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce come to a boil over medium heat, then simmer gently for 5 minutes. Introduce green onions and mix well.
  • Preheat your air fryer to a piping hot 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, coat the wings with a flavorful mix of salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Coat wings thoroughly with cornstarch by tossing until fully covered.
  • Shake each wing and arrange them evenly in the air fryer basket, ensuring they have space between them; if needed, cook in batches.
  • Air fry the wings in the preheated air fryer for 10 minutes, then shake the basket and air fry for an additional 10 minutes. Flip the wings and continue air frying until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear, about 7 to 8 more minutes.
  • Coat wings in the flavorful sauce, then sprinkle with fresh green onions and sesame seeds for a burst of color and texture. Drizzle extra sauce on the side for dipping.
