Create irresistible cream cheese pastries from the comfort of your kitchen using a simple and fail-proof recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 1 package (3 oz) cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons firm butter or margarine
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg white, slightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 425°F. In a medium bowl, blend a 3-oz package of cream cheese and butter with Bisquick using a pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Add milk and egg yolk, and stir to combine.
  • Place the dough on a generously dusted surface with Bisquick mix and gently roll it to coat. Knead the dough 10 times, then roll it out into a 16x8-inch rectangle.
  • Combine an 8-oz package of cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, and almond extract in a small bowl until creamy. Spread the cream cheese filling on half of the dough, leaving a 1/4-inch border. Fold the dough carefully over the filling. Brush the top with egg white, sprinkle with almonds and 2 teaspoons of sugar. Cut the dough into 4 (4-inch) squares, then cut each square diagonally to create 8 triangles. Transfer the triangles to an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for around 14 minutes until beautifully golden. Enjoy warm or chilled. Remember to cover and refrigerate any leftover triangles.
