Elevate your dessert game with Italian-inspired amaretto walnut chocolate brownies.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts, toasted
  • 1/2 cup amaretto
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 8 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, chopped
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup mocha-flavored international instant coffee mix (from 8-oz container)
  • 1 2/3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Soak chopped walnuts in amaretto in a small bowl for 4 to 6 hours. Afterwards, drain the walnuts, discard the amaretto, and set the walnuts aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 13x9-inch pan with foil and generously spray with cooking spray. In a 1-quart heavy saucepan, gently melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring regularly. Remove from heat once fully melted.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium-high speed to beat eggs, sugar, and coffee mix for 8 minutes. Gradually mix in the chocolate mixture on low speed until well blended. Add flour, vanilla, and salt gradually, mixing until well combined. Gently fold in the soaked walnuts. Pour the batter into the pan.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, then let it cool in the pan on a rack. Cut into neat 5 by 3 rows for serving.
