Homemade amaretto: vodka, vanilla, almond extract, and sugar create a delicious liqueur that rivals the original.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups vodka
  • 2 tablespoons almond extract
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water and both sugars, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally until sugars dissolve. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes.
  • Combine vodka, almond extract, and vanilla, then transfer the mixture to a sealed bottle for storage.
