Indulge in a classic American burger with all your favorite toppings for the ultimate comfort food experience.
Ingredients:
  • 400g heart-smart beef mince
  • 125.00 ml fresh multigrain bread crumbs
  • 24.40 gm worcestershire sauce
  • 41.60 gm tomato sauce
  • 9.20 gm olive oil
  • 4 reduced-fat cheese slices
  • 4 hamburger buns, halved, toasted
  • 250.00 ml shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 11.80 gm American-style mustard
  • 4 gherkins, thinly sliced
  • 2 spring onions, trimmed, finely chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 150°C (130°C fan-forced) and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • Combine mince, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, and half of the tomato sauce in a bowl. Season with pepper, mix well, and shape into four 1.5cm-thick patties.
  • In a large non-stick frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. Transfer to a baking tray, top each with a slice of cheese, and bake for 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  • Lay lettuce on bottom halves of rolls. Add patties, mustard, gherkins, onion, the rest of the tomato sauce, and top with the other halves of the rolls. Enjoy your delicious meal.
