Whip up delicious baked apple slices with tangy sour cream filling using a simple hack.
Ingredients:
  • 340g pkt golden buttercake cake mix
  • 90g desiccated coconut
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 400g can apple pieces
  • 300g Light Sour Cream
  • 1 tsp cinnamon sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C while you generously grease a 20cm square cake pan. Line the base and two opposite sides with baking paper, leaving a 5cm overhang.
  • In a medium bowl, mix cake mix, coconut, and butter together. Press the mixture evenly onto the base of the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Allow it to cool slightly.
  • Evenly layer the apple slices on the base, followed by a generous spread of sour cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. Bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the sour cream is nicely set.
  • Allow the dish to cool in the pan before slicing it into fingers for serving.
