Delightful tarts packed with apples, shallots, and Gruyère cheese for your guests to enjoy!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on box
  • 1 large red apple, peeled, cut into 1/4-inch cubes
  • 4 oz Gruyère cheese, cut into 1/4-inch cubes
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons chopped pistachio nuts
  • 2 tablespoons chopped sweetened dried cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Unwrap the pie crusts and roll each one into a 12-inch round. Cut out 10 rounds from each crust using a 3 1/2-inch round cutter, reusing any excess dough as needed. Gently press each round into an ungreased standard-size muffin cup.
  • Combine diced apple and cubed cheese in a bowl; set aside.
  • In a cozy skillet, let butter melt over gentle heat. Cook shallots for 2 to 4 minutes until tender, while giving them a few occasional stirs. Take the skillet off the heat and mix in the apple concoction. Place a generous spoonful of the apple-shallot blend into each cup.
  • Bake for 24 to 27 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Let them cool in the pans for 5 minutes, then remove from the muffin cups.
  • In a medium bowl, combine nuts, cranberries, and thyme. Top each tart with 1 teaspoon of the nut mixture. Optionally, decorate the tarts with extra thyme sprigs. Enjoy tarts warm or at room temperature.
