Decadent Polish-inspired cupcake with irresistible aroma from Milwaukee's finest bakers.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.66666668653488 cup shortening
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 apples - peeled, cored and shredded
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) while preparing muffin pans. Grease and flour 24 cups or line with paper liners. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a sifter and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whip the shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and buttermilk. Gradually add the flour mixture, then gently fold in mashed bananas and shredded apples. Fill each muffin cup halfway.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool.
