Apple Banana Bread with cinnamon crumble topping. Flavorful blend of bananas and apples. Perfect sweet treat for the family.
Ingredients:
  • 2.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 medium apples, cubed
  • 0.75 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 medium banana, sliced
  • 1 medium apple, sliced
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and generously grease two 7x3-inch loaf pans.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt, whisking until evenly mixed.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together sugar and melted butter until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in yogurt and vanilla. Gently fold in flour mixture until just combined.
  • Gently mix in bananas, apples, and walnuts until just combined with small banana chunks remaining visible; avoid overmixing. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  • Prepare the topping by combining brown sugar, white sugar, flour, butter, and cinnamon in a bowl until crumbly.
  • Divide the topping evenly between the two loaves. Decorate each loaf with slices of banana and apple.
  • After baking in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, rest the pans and gently wrap each with aluminum foil.
  • Continue baking in the oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of each loaf comes out clean, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Cool the dish before serving after removing it from the oven.
